Susan Holland

Joined 2 years ago from Southwest Missouri. Last activity 3 days ago.

Hi everyone!  I am so glad you have stopped by to check out my profile.  I am the last of eight children - the "Oops, she is a menopause baby." I have been married for 29 years to a wonderful man who is now retired from his full time career as an Army National Guard Engineer officer. We have two great kids, our son who is also in the Army National Guard and married to a beautiful girl and our daughter who is starting her college career. I am a high school teacher and love my job.

I love to write and share my life, and I encourage others to do the same.  One of the best ways to share and make some money, too, is to Join Hub Pages!

Until a couple of years ago, I was used to taking care of house and kids alone for most of my marriage.  Being a military wife brings on a whole different way of marriage than I expected - some good, some not so good.  I am extremely proud of my husband's service and all our armed forces and their work and sacrifice.

I love to travel and I love to stay at home.  New York City, Cancun, London, and Eureka Springs, AR, are my favorite places to visit. Mainly I am a home-body, though.

I take comfort in and draw from my Christian faith.  I believe in loving others, forgiving, and second chances - all things I have needed in my life and will probably need again.

Family and friends are most important in my life.  Also important to me are our two mini-Dachshunds that are spoiled beyond belief - so much so that if I believed in reincarnation, I would want to be a dog in a home just like mine.
