How to Stop Notifications for Games on Facebook
How many times a week, a day, an hour do we receive notifications inviting us to play games like Candy Crush, Bejeweled, and Farmville on Facebook? If you are thinking too stinking many times, period, then you are in the right spot.
People we love and “friend” on Facebook play these games and invite you to play with them. Either they don’t know how to click the “x” to close out when the “share” option pops up, or they want to earn “coins” or “points” by getting people to join their favorite game.
Give it up! Stop hitting the “share” button! When you see messages in your newsfeed stating in complete frustration and anger, “Stop sending me notifications to play games,” take heed!
Okay, so many people are not getting the message when we post vivid instructions to stop. There are steps we can take that will stop these pesky notifications from popping up while we are on Facebook.
Below are steps to take to quietly stop game notifications.
Step 1
Look in the upper right hand corner of your Facebook screen. Click on the small, blue down arrow.
Step 2
Once the pull down screen appears, click "Settings."
Step 3
You will then be taken to your "General Account Settings." On the left you will see a list. Click on "Notifications."
Step 4
Now in your "Notifications Settings," you need to scroll down and click on "Apps and requests activity."
Step 5
On the "Apps requests and activity" drop down menu, you will see some of the apps that can send you notifications. It will probably be a shortened list, so on the bottom of the list, click "See More." Every App that can send you a notification is in the list with a check mark in the box. Click the box so the check mark is not showing.

Fun Posts, But Please Don't Take Over My Newsfeed
Other Pesky Notifications and Posts
Sometimes you will have a friend or family member who only posts silly pictures or inspirational sayings with things you don't want to see ALL the time or that take up your entire Newsfeed.
These posts in themselves are not a problem when there are only one or two and we even enjoy them because they make us laugh or think. It is when your friend likes/shares these types of posts several times within an hour knocking all your other friend's personal posts out of the feed, it might be a bit irritating - no matter how well-intentioned. Many want to send a message and go overboard driving it home with post after post after post... You just want it to stop without losing your FB friend.
You can go to your friend's wall and click on the "Follow" tab so there is no longer a check mark next to it. You ARE NOT "unfriending" your friend, you are simply removing their posts from your newsfeed. You can go to their wall or message them any time, and they will not know you have chosen not to follow them any longer because of their posts.
